I am going on the Elation 3/14/04. I was wondering how much alcoholic drinks were. I heard a lot of people waste money on drinks. I was wondering if it were to be better just to smuggle some vodka on the ship with us.
For example, how much for an amaretto sour (my drink of choice), margarita, etc.
I am not sure how much the drinks are exacly ( between 4 and 7 dollars generally) however I was on this ship January of last year. I was easily able to bring on alcohol onto my cruise ship...Holland America's Zuiderdam back in August. We even bought some at port and the crew members running the metal dectector laughed when they saw that is what we bought coming back onto the ship from St. Thomas. They say you aren't supposed to bring any onboard, but if you have it wrapped up in luggage, generally you are fine. Just bring all that you want and set up a bar in your room. That is what we did. It was a blast!!
Carnival charges too much for drinks in my opinion. I wonder what percentage of profits are derrived from their drinks? For the cost of one drink on the ship is within a buck or two of an entire bottle at many ports of call.
Hey Carnival take a break let us enjoy a drink without having to get a second mortgage!
Well, it's very true that you can run up a sizeable drink tab, the drink prices aren't any more than what you would pay for drinks at a bar, club or restaurant on land. You'll come out ahead on mixed drinks if you buy your first one in the Carnival funship glass and from then on just get refills in the same glass. The refills are less expensive.
I agree,Starfighter. The drinks aren't really any more than you see on land. thanks fo rthe list, jedgar!
Ohhhhh....I can just *taste* a Yellowbird right now....
