Default Dominica's carnivale

We are sailing on the Destiny 2/22 and we will be in Dominica on Tuesday the 24th. This is Dominica's carnival celebration. My question is has anyone been here during carnival? If so what should we expect? I see they have parades and music and dancing, I am almost to belive it is like Mardi Gras. Don't know whether I will be getting beads or not! Just let me know if you know of or have heard of Dominica's carnival.

I have been in St. Thomas during carnivale and there are parades and parties right in the downtown area, very neat but very busy. You might just luck out and get to see some neat parades. Make sure to bring along plenty of film.

Dominica. I have been pretty much all over the Eastern and Southern Caribbean and there is no place like Dominica. It is incredable. They have live volcanos, breath taking waterfalls and even hot water ponds. So hot, that if you fall in you would burn to death. (dont worry they arent in a place where you would be). Wild flowers are so beautiful. Ginger, grapefruit trees, banana trees, orange trees and on and on. Carnivale or not you will not be disapointed! A little warning when it comes to the beggers. Not many but there were a few that were annoying.
Have a wonderful trip!

It's always fun to go to "Carnivale" no matter where it is, but it's not equal to "Mardi Gras", "Rio Carnivale" or "Trinidad Carnivale". But then, those are the granddaddys of the celebration with at least a million visitors each.
