Default cruise insurance

I just purchased cruise insurance through Carnival for our 4/10 cruise on the Glory. Has anyone ever had to use it? We mainly got it for the air, in case we miss the ship.
Also this particular cruise price went down $100.00 FYI !!
Thanks

Yes, I have used my insurance twice. The first time Sensation was fogged out of Tampa harbor , we got off the ship at 4:00 pm. Had to spend the night in a hotel and rebook airfare. Insurance paid for all expenses incurred for the delay. The second time, on Pride. I took a bump from Orlando and when we got into Cincinnati, bad weather came in and they closed the airport. We were rebooked on a flight into Kalamazoo (needed Lansing the next day, so we spent the night in a hotel in Kentucky. When we arrived in K-zoo, we had to rent a car to drive to Lansing to pick up our luggage and vehicles. Insurance paid for the hotel, rental car and food. I never go without insurance now.

Hi There,

I have always booked a third party insurance (i.e. not one provided for by the cruise line) and it's with Travel Guard. I have not needed to use them, but several clients over the years have booked with them and only a handful have had to put in claims for a variety of reasons. All have reported good service on the phone, and where documemtation was needed and presented, claims were paid within 2 weeks.
I hope you don't need to rely on it, but any insurance is a safe idea considering the $$$$ you're spending. Hope this helps.

Mike
