Default Destiny S. Caribbean - which side balcony view and front or

I am yet not too familiar with the cruise lingo but was wondering whether the Port view (assuming that this has the view of port when the ship docks) or the other side view (Sea/Ocean view?) is better for a South Caribbean cruise on Carnival Destiny?

Also, between front and back of ship, which is better for the Upper deck (deck 6) with respect to (1) stability/less rocking (2) accessibility to key ship areas?

Thanks
PK

Ships can and do dock with either side against the dock. If its tied up with the right side [starboard] against the dock it is said to be "starboardside to". If its the other side [port]against the dock, that is "portside to". So "port view"[no such term] is whatever side where you can look at the port, probably both sides.
Look at a map of where your ship is going to travel, whatever side that will face south the most will be the sunnier side.

If movement is a large concern then you must be on the lowest deck, midships[no balconies there]. The higher the deck and the further forward or aft you are, the more the movement. That said, there is very little movement on a Destiny sized ship unless the ocean becomes very rough.
Also, there is more movement high up at either end of the ship compared to low down in the middle, But the difference is so small that you couldn't tell without measuring equipment..

It might be that you don't want to be too close to things. With all the food they try to stuff into you, longer walks and more stairways could be a good thing.

Oh, I forgot to tell you about "port views"
Its embarcation day and the passengers are boarding when a young man comes storming up to the pursers desk. "May I help you." asks the purser of the obviously irate young man. "Yes, I'm extremely angry. I just checked out my room. I paid extra for an ocean view and all I can see is a parking lot."

.. that is way too funny (and ironically I find myself in a similar state

Thanks for all the info. I'll settle for the Ocean view (port or no port)

Dan, That was way to funny!
And PK- We have chosen the aft of the ship. We find it to be less noticable in the movement aspect.

i agree with Dan, less movement felt in lower part of ship, if u get close to activities u will some time be kept awake from the noise overhead. besides, that, who cares, your not in the cabin except to sleep and bath. enjoy your cruise)) dont worry, destiny is huge ship and u probably wont notice any movement unless your really tuning in to it.
