Default Need help with a Bahamas offer

I had a relative call me this morning and ask me about a hotel/cruise offer and gave me the phone number of the company giving the offer.

Anyways, the deal is for a 2 night stay in Ft. Lauderdale, FL and a week cruise to the Bahamas for a week for $200 a person in late May. I don't know, but that price sound a little fishy to me. There is no way it is a major cruise line. I asked my cousin, what cruise line? But, she didn't know.

I called the number, but no answer. They say to leave a message. But, I noticed that they don't give their name on the answering machine.

I went to the National Better Business Business Bureau site and typed in the phone number. The BBB had no information. I also look the number up with the Southeast Florida BBB and they had no information either.

Does anyone have any ideas?

Brandi

It's a rip-off. You can buy this same 'deal' for about $99 per person. What it is many times is a time share lecture that you have to sit through, a room at a 1 star or no star hotel and passage on a converted ferryboat to the Bahamas and back with a stay there in a poorly maintained hotel where you will end up paying through the nose to keep it from becoming a total disaster. Stay away from it. Other times this 'deal' ends up costing you quite a bit in "hidden" costs as well. If you want a cruise or a vacation to the Bahamas, stick to a legitimate TA and to the major tour operators and cruiselines.

It sounds like a time share scam. I know the Regal Empress takes people over there and then you are subjected to a hard sell on a time share resort over there or in Ft. lauderdale. I had a similar offer and threw it away.

No, it's a 1-800 number.

toss it in the trash where it belongs. I get these 'offers' about 6 times a month and the prices range from $0, (supposedly won it), to $299 and everything in between. I have not even done it for free and I love cruising! <G>
