Default Bingo - we won! A 7 day cruise in Penthouse Suite

Wondered if anyone else has ever won at bingo . . . we took the cruise in a Penthouse suite on the Holiday. We always buy the least expensive cabin (bunk beds mostly) and this was certainly a treat!

How did you win a penthouse suite? I won the bingo last year on the Spririt and I'm using it this year for our 7 days outside (not even a balcony) cabin.

I noticed on the last cruise we went on they gave a free cruise but ours was for any cruise ship in a Penthouse - except Destiny (that was the new ship at the time). Since we were "at sea" when we won the value was $0 so we paid no taxes on the winnings either - what a deal!

My husband and I were on a 3 night cruise on the Fascination last year and my husband won a free cruise playing bingo. The prize was for a 3,4, or 5 night cruise with an outside room. We took full advantage of the prize and will be sailing on the Miracle for 5 nights in April....:o)

On NCL's SKY, I hit the week's largest jackpot ~ $4,000!!! Another woman also hit Bingo, so we split the pot. Funny thing was, I KNEW I was going to win. About 8 numbers away, I got a *feeling* and told my husband who was not believing me. Let me tell you, as I got down to the final number, he was as excited as I was. B I N G O !!!
Just about every cruise, I at least hit a small pot.

I think so. I have been on two Carnival cruises and they played every night at least two games.

Just beware if you are true Bingo players heads up on the prices they are a little high like on our 7 day on the inspiration most days 1 card was 10-20 dollars and they only played 1 game . Just bring a lil extra if you are addicted to BINGO....

I'm definately not addicted , I haven't played Bingo, in years.
We do however, like to go casino gambling, a couple of times
a year. I figure, even if the cards are a little high, it will still
be cheaper than, just 1 trip to a casino. I also, would like
a chance at a free or discounted cruise!!! Most casino's
don't offer that.
Thanks for the info!

Make sure you get in the blackjack and slots tournaments too - if you like the casino - great deal for the money and chance at a good sized pot. Usually $10-20 bucks play for 10 minutes straight. They run about 20 of these through and the top 10 winners go to the finals and play one more round - winner of that round usually wins $200-$500 bucks. Lots of fun! Blackjack same way, you pay a small entrance fee, they give you $10,000 in chips and then you play 10-20 hand and he with the largest pot at the end wins $500-$1000 bucks. If you're a gambler of sorts, (I'm not a big gambler) the bingo games are just another avenue of enjoyment - $10 for a card at a chance to win a free cruise or even $200 it's great odds, better than the slots, etc. since there are usually only 100 or so people playing.

Explain the slot tournament to me. I have seen the signs for them but never played in the tournament. How does it go?

The slot tournaments are great. You sign up for a designated time - the tournament runs usually for about 2-3 hours but you sign up for a slot (i.e., 2:30) and you pay an entrance fee (usually $10 or $20) and you with 10 others play for 10 minutes straight and everytime your machine wins the credits build up. The top 10 people from all the preliminary rounds play another round at the end of the tournament and the person with the most credits wins the grand prize - usually $300-$500 bucks. It's a lot of fun because if you put $20 in a slot and played maximum coins each time it would last, say like 30 seconds . . . . You basically, just keep hitting the spin button about a million times and you'd be amazed how many hit the 777. Try it, it's very fun especially for those that hate just loosing and loosing.

Can you put your bingo cards on your sign and sail card, or do you need cash each time?

Thanks

Natalie

Ok..two things first bingo, you can use your sign and sail card definitely I do it all the time. Now the slot machine thing...if you pay the entrance fee do you also pay per play? Is there a designated machine? Or do you pay an entrance fee and then put $ in each spin? I really want to try it but don't spend a lot of $ on this kind of stuff.... Thanks for the info

You pay $20 for the tournmet and they have about 7-10 machines lined in a row. You play to get the highest points. This is at no extra cost! I you are able to get high enough points you are placed on the leader board. They take the top ten people and go to the 2nd round. You play again at no cost! Who ever has the highest points this round is WINNER! They have at 2 tournments on a 7day trip! As someone said above the odds are good for just $20. GOOD LUCK!

Last cruise you could put anything you wanted on your sail and sign card - even the bingo cards now.

That tournament sounds like fun. How long does it last? Do you presign up?

You can presign up but there's no need, you can walk up any time during the tournament time and get into the next round. Then you take your turn, if your score gets you onto the big board (meaning that your score is in the top ten) then you come back at the end of the tournament for the final round. Usually we stop in, play our round and if we make it on the board just come back. My husband can't stand the anticipation so he'll stop back in from time to time to see if his high total holds up and he's still in the final round. If someone in the meantime has knocked him out (meaning his high score wasn't in the top ten) he will usually play again. He loves gambling. Me, I'll play once then sit at the pool until the end and then see if I'm in the running for the final round.

Congratulations.
Carnival used to have a raffle on the last evening of a cruise for a free Cat. 12 cabin. We won in 2000 and had 12 months to book our prize. Being something of a doubting Thomas, I thought it might be one of those things where every date you submitted would either be "blacked out" or the ship would be unavailable. But no, our 1st choice was accepted. So enjoy it and maybe do what we did. Since 1 week was a freebie, we doubled our holiday. (Only problem now is that my spouse loved the balcony so much, that we have booked balconies ever since then, .)
