Default Opinions on Carnival Pride

We have sailed Royal Caribbean a few times and loved it but I'm thinking about Pride this summer for my husband, myself and two kid, 13 and 14.

What are your opinions of the ship, the itinerary, the rooms? Would my kids have a good time? Also we live in Denver so sailing out of LA isn't too far.

Thanks!

I'm not sure of your itinerary as those change but the Pride is a wonderful ship. We sailed her last year. Had a blast as always. Make sure to have a shower in the gym/spa one day, they are awesome...

I loved the Pride. It is my favorite ship so far (have been several different Carnival ships). The ship is well laid out with plenty going on for everyone. The Mexican Riviera wasn't my favorite route but it was definately my favorite ship.

We just got back from the Mex Riv on Pride. Thought the ship was good, cabins ok room wise, paid for inside guar and got outside 4th deck with lifeboats outside but still good view and more light. Food ok, shows good, ports great Public areas are nice looking but lots of smoke on the lounge, shop, and main atrium areas as well as casino. Compared to Rhapsody four years ago on same ports, Pride held its own except for food quality. Embarkation, debarkation, tendering and leaving in ship in ports great, well organized except Maz got little crowded getting off. Had hard bed in our cabin but our son was fine a few weeks earlier. We would consider again but would probably sample Celebrity or Princess or try RCCL, or HAL again before going back.

The kids will have a great time -- the slide alone is entertainment for them.

We really enjoy the Spirit class.

Check out my gallery under ship photos and a separate cabin photos for more.

We did the Pride over Thanksgiving. It was awesome. It totally recommend getting a cabin with balcony. We got the extended balcony and love it. Had breakfast and coffee out there, saw beautiful sunrises and sunsets. Bring a bungee to hold the door open for fresh air. The ship was beautiful. I left my review , check it out.
Have a great time !

Elise, I was also on the Pride with Harry Martin. I have been to the Mexican Riviera 7 times now ( 2XHAL, 2XRCCL, 3XCCL). So far my best experience as far as food and service goes has been with Carnival. The Pride is the nicest ship we have been on to date. Your kids will love the activities. The ports are very nice with many tour to suit any taste. One minor problem, remember you will be in the tropics, that time of year will be verrrry hot and huuuuuumid.

I just booked a cruise on the Pride for Sept 5, 2004. Everything I have read on this board and another are mostly all positive. Looking forward to the cruise, this is our first ever cruise!!! Good luck and happy cruising!
