Scarlet Fever and Donna Summer: Please don't breed...I can just imagine the children after they have been locked away during their teen years.

Ferrets......well, I've met a few unruly ADULT weasels in a bar, but never would I discriminate against all the ferrets just because their cousins, the weasels, are running rampant in the bar.

Hi Kimmy! Got your back girlfriend!

We were on the conquest recently with our sixteen year old daughter and son who turned 20 during the cruise. Our daughter would have gone to the teen disco had there ever been anyone there but since it was deserted every night she opted to stay with us. I don't know why other people are being so judgemental about taking young people with you into the clubs or casino. Our daughter went to the casino and disco with us and was never asked for ID. It's not like we took her on a rowdy week long party, most of the time it was pretty mellow in the disco anyway. I'm sure if your teens look and act mature they will have no problem going anywhere on the ship.

Thanks for the input cantw82cruz (cute nickname, by the way). I have no idea why people's panties are in such a bundle over this. I had no idea my question would start a debate.

Gary,

Well no one is talking about how "neat" my kids are. I only mentioned that they are able to handle adult situations and only pointed that out because some people here seem to be a bit uptight. Otherwise my original question was straight and to the point with no self congratulatory comments toward the demeanor of my kids. Anyway, no one forces you to click on this thread, so you don't have to "hear" about it all if you choose not to. So you must secretly like to puke! hee hee :o)

My kids are neat
My kids are neat
My kids are neat
My kids are neat
My kids are neat
My kids are neat
My kids are neat
My kids are neat
My kids are neat
My kids are neat

That was TEN more times....Muhahahahahaha....ah the power!!!

My kids are are not neat. My kids are great. They say yes Ma'am and yes Sir. They know what discipline is. I think the original question was about teens in the disco (not sitting at the bar) WITH their parents. No, I would not like teens running around in the bar either, but that was NOT Kimmy's question. I personally would remove my kids (and take them out behind the shed if there was one on the ship) if they were being obnoxious.
Where are the ferrets? I want to party with them.

Oh, by the way, my kids ARE neat!

My Husband and I where on the pride last January on our honeymoon and there where definately kids under 18 in the disco....We had no problems with this and in fact enjoyed seeing them having a good time out there dancing ...all where very nice and respectful and I am sure if they weren't acting appropriatly they would have been removed.......Soooo with this I say to Kim and her kids ...I hope you have a blast on your cruise Bonnie

Just got off the Legend last week. My husband and I were shocked when we were told that our 16 and 17 year-old girls would not be allowed into the disco - even with us! The reason they gave is that most of the teens that come into the disco do so without parents and/or the parents leave shortly after they come in. We expressed our disappointment but it didn't get us very far since it was getting pretty late (12:30am). I have heard though that they are sometimes lax in enforcement - depends whats been going on and if they had recent problems.

Good luck.

I love my children very much, yet we have chosen to go on this vacation alone to enjoy some adult time together. I am very aware that there will be children on other parts of the boat (which obviously I'm fine with), but when a casino or disco has posted age limits, I would expect that to be adhered to.. This has nothing to do with alcohol or underage drinking, but more about the atmosphere that is being created. At 34 I do not want to feel like I'm at my high school prom by being surrounded by 18 year olds. I want to be with people close to my age.

We considered bringing our almost 17 year old this year, but for these very reasons decided to wait until she's older. I agree, it's an age where they are in limbo--but with respect for the other passengers traveling without children, we would enforce the age limits as well.
