Cruising durning New Years Eve

Hey as I sit here and freeze in good ol syracuse New York, I am thinking about taking a cruise arond New Years even in 04. I have been on nine cruises to date but always in Mid-April. Has anybody been on a cruise durning New Years? How was it and how were the age groups of people? I am 19 and hoping that there will be some people my age during this time. Any feed back is deeply appreciated.

Yes New Year can be a party - but depending on where you are sailing from it can also be cold the first day out and the last day in.

I have been wondering, how do they do it....do they have a countdown on the PA or in the lounges or something?

actually on the top deck, by the pool...they had a huge screen set up that was playing that Dick Clark new years eve show...and they had a huge countdown and served free champange. It was a good time....like they had a makeshift ball drop from some pole...it was fun!
