Carnival Price Reduction!!!!!!

Hay everone, I recieved an e-mail from Carnival this morning and the are having a one day sale today! I called them this evening and was able to save $200.00 a person in our group of four which sets sail April 11, 2004 on the Victory.
Carnival's number is 1-800-819-3902. Ask for Juliet Bright, her ext. is 82347
Good luck and save some money :-)
Terry

Thats wonderful to hear about the price drop. Question is, can you call Carnival if you used a TA company like Travelocity on the internet???? Or does all communication and changes have to go through the travel agent?

Unfourtunitly when you book with a TA you must do everything thru them. If you did not call on Saturday before midnight it's too late. I booked a 6a guarantee, a price reduction happened and they mailed me 330.00. Than the price dropped again by 10 dollars so they booked me a 6b and with the saturday sale they upgraded me again to 6d. Next thing is the suite, and per my carnival rep I have a good chance.....love that guarantee category :)

Re: Carnival Price Reduction!!!!!!

It's true, it stinks haveing used a TA. I learned my lesson and will book my own cruise next time. I guess I'm working both sides of the fence. I'm on Carnivals e-mail list and they send me the promotions then I call my TA for her to fetch the deals. It can be a pain in the #!! but it's what I have to do. My TA has done nothing to find deals for me. Next time we book a Carnival cruise I'm using their rep Juliet Bright. She has been wonderful.

Sounds like you need to find a better TA - better prices and better service. Email me if you would like the name and number of my TA.

Re: Carnival Price Reduction!!!!!!

I have booked both my cruises directly with Carnival. The last one I booked, I was able to get a much better rate with a TA, and Carnival would not match it. So from now on, I am certainly going to shop around. Carnival tells me they gave me the best rate, past cruiser discount, yada, yada, yada, and then I get it better from a TA, and Carnival hates having to give up the cruise, but won't match price.

It pays to shop around.

I called Travelocity tonight, and they called carnival. Carnival honored the price drop and now saving 220.00/pp! Thats such a good thing.

Thanks Terry for all your help!

Re: Carnival Price Reduction!!!!!!

You need to call carnival and have them go over your booking with you and ask them if you missed any promotions or price drops. Once you find out that answer if you have a TA you need to call them to make it happen. The promotion that started this, I found out was a Michigan residents promotion. I'm sure they probably have one going for each state.? The best thing to do is call them your self so you know. Also get on there e-mail list. When a promotion comes out you'll be the first to know. I've been in contact with Angie282 and She keeps checking and her cruise keeps dropping and she's getting the deals. Just this week I believe she saved $240.00pp. It pays to keep on top of it!
Sense I booked our cruise last November we have saved about $380.00pp and we booked our own air, (which cruise air was $459.00pp) for $282.00pp and we go down a day early on Saturday. We also booked a room on Priceline.com at the Radisson in Downtown Miami for $35.00. We had a room booked at the Holiday Inn before we went to Priceline for $108.00. It takes some time to find and get the deals but in the end it is well worth it!

Re: Carnival Price Reduction!!!!!!

Carnival is not going to match TA prices because TA's are rebating their commission Carnival pays them. Carnival would save money by not paying TA commission but that's not how it's done because they depend on TA's for most of their business. TA's get the same prices from Carnival as you would calling direct but then rebate to get your business.

Re: Carnival Price Reduction!!!!!!

We have used TA for years...but now we have use Carnival directly and get Interline prices (hubby is airline related). Personally, I like not having a middle man.

We upgraded ourselves from an 8D to a suite about a week ago. We originally booked back in Sept of 2003. We sail out this Sunday and I was wondering if anyone thought we would be entitled to any discounts that were given?
