Going to Roatan end of this month thinking about going to tabayana beach can anyone tell me how it is. Is there snorkelying their? If so do you need to bring snorkel gear or do they have it there? Also if you any ideas on what to do while at Roatan let me know.
We were in Roatan on our cruise in 2000. Tabayana Beach was the highlite of our cruise and still tops any snorkeling spots that we have been too. The beach is very nice and the water is crystal clear. I spent most of my time in the water while we were there.
If you have your own snorkel gear, bring it! There's nothing like your own stuff. Also pack some zip lock baggies in you luggage and the night before your cruise get some cereal or bread to put in your baggies to take along with you on your excursion. You will be shocked to see the amount of fish that gathers when you open that bag.
I sure hope some day I can make it back to Roatan.
Have a great time.

The snorkeling at Tabyana Beach was excellent. There is a very beautiful coral reef with a wide variety of coral and many fish and marine life there. You could snorkel there all day and still not see everything that is there to see. We were there in October, 2003 and there were rentals available there or you could bring your own. As the previous poster said you are better off bringing your own equipment that you know fit well and are comfortable to use. Let us know when you get back how you liked it if you go there.
