Default GROUP RATES AND UPGRADES?

I have been planning a Sept. cruise on the Glory , and now have enough friends and family wanting to go that we can get a group rate. By taking advantage of this rate will we be less likely to get an upgrade? I had heard that unless the entire group can be upgraded that none would be. In our case half have booked 4a and half have booked 8a so we are not going to be all together anyway. Has anyone booked groups and been upgraded?

I booked with groups 5 times. I have been upgraded twice while booked in the group. So, you just never know.

My current group on the Pride was upgraded from an 8A to an 8I. This is the highest upgrade available in catergory 8 on this ship. My last group on the Conquest was upgraded from a category 8A to an 8H which was the highest upgrade available in category 8 on that ship. We did not, as expected, have cabins all in a row although we were in the same hallway. We felt very fortunate to have gotten these upgrades as we would have been thrilled to go just from an 8A to an 8D.

Sincerely,

Gina

p.s. I apologize if I accidentally double post. The first one I wrote seemed to get lost in cyber space so this is my second attempt at posting to this question.
