We will be cruising and our son will be 4. He is very tall for his age, and minds and understands well. I really think he would love this, but I don't know if the tour guides will let him go or what. I also have a son that will be 1 and a half when we go. Obviously I know he can't go in, but can he still go on the tour. I just fighred my hubbie and I would take turns in the water so 0someone can stay w/ him on the boat. I also saw another post where somebody said a guide brought a stingray up to the side of the boat for the kids to touch. Please give me a better idea of this trip, and if it is small child appropriate. Thanks!
You could not ask for a more interesting or informational tour for a small child.
The tour guides I have been with have been very eager to teach people,
especially kids, about the stingray. Very educational.
You might contact some local tour operators to check on their policy for children.
Nativeway and Captain Marvins are a couple I remember from the boards.
We went on this tour in Grand Cayman though the ship with 3 childern ages 4,4 & 6 the two four years olds had a good time just watching from the boat they were to scard to go inthe water with the sting rays. My advice is play it by ear bur definilty take the kids on the tour. by the the way we did not have to pay for the 2 4 year olds beacuse of there age
you might have to hold your sons but they wil love it dont miss it the water is only about waist deep so you will have no problem getting in with the rays with both of them as long as mom isnt afraid to join dad in the water with one of them. have a blast. we did the stingray adventure two years ago and loved it. you may not have to pay for the little ones either.
which tour did you take with the stingrays in Cayman? I've got a 4 and a 2 year old, and would LOVE my 4 year old to learn as much as she can (we're kind of ecology minded, so a respect for wildlife is a very important thing to teach our kids)...
I just assumed the kids would be too little (I'm sure the 2 year old is)....
But if your tour guide was helpful with answering the kids' questions, I'd LOVE to know who you went with - maybe we can do that too!
we used Nativeways and I highly recommend them! small groups, personalized service - they will go out of their way to make sure everyone on their tour has a great time. I think your kids will be fine. wish i could go back again. it was a phenomenal experience!
