I'm a bit prejudiced, being a native New Orleanian, but I think you will love New Orleans. The weather has just turned warm and we are having spring days, highs in the 70's. Enjoy the weather and walk around the French Quarter. Plan on having coffee and beignets (donuts with powdered sugar). Try a muffletta (a Italian sandwich with olive salad on it) from Central Grocery.
Although we were on the cruise on February 22nd, I must say that the Conquest is a beautiful ship. You never feel like there are almost three thousand people on the ship. The food was good. Take advantage of the spa. The dinner at the Point was very good. I cannot say anything about Jamaica or Grand Cayman, since we did not get to go there. Cozumel was fun - even though all the ship's shore excursions were cancelled. We went to Playa Sol and ate at Pancho's Backyard.
We were on the Conquest last Nov... The ship was full but did not run into any crowds except mild lines at the Buffets....
I remember you could get a lounge chair on the non-smoking side just from the
autorium (sp) where the grand piano is located... We were the only ones out there in the evening...
Most hang out at the Lido deck in the middle of the ship where the water slide, pool & hot tubes are located... the Pizza 24/7 is also there as well as the hambuger, hotdog, steak sandwich bar is located....
Do a search on this forum & copy & paste to MS Word, you can then print it out & take it with you.....

We just returned (3/7-3/14) from the Conquest cruise. It was terrific. We didn't much care for Jamaica, but we did the raft trip that was nice. We wanted to snorkle with the stingrays in Grand Cayman, but it was cancelled due to the rip tides. So we shopped there. DO YOUR HOMEWORK--don't believe all the Shipboard shopping "expert" tells you. We finally got to snorkle in Cozumel and it was great!
The food onboard was top notch. We ate in the dining room every night because our waiter was terrific and made dinner an experience. If we couldn't decide between 2 entrees, he'd bring both. If we couldn't decide between 2 desserts, he'd bring both. If we got an entree, and didn't like it, he'd bring us something else. WOW!
This was our first cruise, and we missed a lot of the onboard shows because we just didn't know any better, but we'll catch them the next time.
Have fun!
If you like to dance without a lot of smoke then try the Degas Lounge...
Country Western band (3 piece) that takes request.... They start around 8:30 to 9 pm after the Vegas show.... Degas Lounge is in the back of the Conquest....
