Default cabin position

Help, we just recieved our much anticipated cruise documentation(we are from Australia) and dissappointed to see our cabin is located right outside the elevater (lift). Way too noisy for our liking, can anyone suggest how we may be able to organise a change of position of our cabin also our travel agent has left everything so late we havent been able to let carnival know which dinner setting we would prefer, any suggestions there would be appreciated. Its such a long way to come to be dissapointed before we start off.

I was wondering whether anyone had his room just next to the elevator... I think our room will be just close to the elevator.....

State rooms are not "next" to elevators. We LIKE being close to elevators, less walking. Never had a problem with noise. The maitr'd is usually in the dining room after you board. They can help you with dinner times, seating.

Hi Aussie Gals,
We once had a cabin close to the elevators and it was no problem, in fact it was rather nice, very easy to find cabin that way. There was no more noise that we could hear, so I wouldn't worry about that.
