Default Do they offer ship tours...

that show you the engine rooms, bridge and inner worings of the ship? My dad, husband and sons would love to see that stuff (guy thing), but I figured for security reasons, they may not allow that. Anyone know? Thanks!

The bridge tours have been pretty much discontinued since 9/11. They were fairly common before then, but you can't do those tours now.

Nope...only the galley (kitchen) on our cruise March 14th on the Inspiration....Due to 9/11 they have pretty much stopped all the bridge tours, etc.....due to security measures.

You cannot get permission to tour these areas. Even crew who are not assigned to these areas are not allowed in there. Many ships have also stopped the gallery tours or greatly reduced what you see.

My husband is a civil Engineer and would love to be able to tour the water plant and waste water treatment areas etc. I told him i doubt it would be possible, but were wondering (Conquest, Aug. 2005)

99% chance NO
Those areas are in the restricted engine areas which are STRICTLY FORBIDDEN for guests.
Same goes for the bridge etc. Bridge access is EXTREMELY strict.
