I don't use space bags, A cheaper way is to buy Hefty 2 1/2 gallon zippered food bags. They are quite large. You can pack a whole outfit in each one. Slacks, blouse, light weight jacket, or sweater and underware. You can put pressure and squeeze out all of the air and flatten the package out. It is so easy to have everything to wear at hand and can keep the luggage neat too. Hope this idea helps.
Yes! We've used them, as well as a brand bought at Wal-mart and they both work great. Last year for Mexico we were able to get about 7 pairs of jean shorts squished down to about 1 1/2 to 2" space. I'm not saying they aren't a little wrinkled when they come out, but no worse than packing without them. I figure the less room my clothes take up, the more room I have for shoes!
Those space saver bags do work and you can get lotsw more in your nags that way. One very large caution though, remember that as you can put more in your bags you still have to keep the overall weight down per piece of luggage if you are flying. If any bag goes over the airlines established limit they fine you and it is no small sum either. In addition, the bags are weighed individually and it is not the average weight of all of them!

We have frequently used them for big trips. I got a complete weeks worth of winter clothing for a New York trip AND a London Fog trenchcoat into one 22 inch carry -on size bag using Space Bags. Have also packed for a long ski trip, including ski-bib and parka. Wrinkling no worse than normal packing.
