Default Embarkation question

We're crusing for the first time in August - and out of Tampa on the Inspiration- and we've made arrangements to fly down the day ahead of the cruise. We'll have to check out of our hotel at 10:00 AM on Sunday. We'll head over to the port then - does anyone know what time we can get our luggage checked in, so we'll be free to wander around the port area for a litlte while, (without lugging all that luggage)?

Thanks very much

You'll probably be able to get on the ship itself around 11am-noon.

When you get your tickets in the mail it will tell you in the welcome aboard booklet pg 9.
For tampa it says 1:30pm.

But you can always show up around 11:00. The luggage porters will be there, and you might be able to board around 11:30 or so.

Thanks for the info. Even if we can't board then, I would like to think we can at least check our luggage in. We won't have a car to leave it in - and we really don't want to roam around the Port Area (I understand there are shops etc there) carrying all that luggage.

Of course, since it's our first cruise - I suspect we'll want to get onboard fairly early - to give us a chance to start looking around.

Again - thanks

You might want to read board information about the Inspiration and the Port of Tampa. I've noticed a few posts stating that this ship tends to get back into port a few hours late. I was on the Inspiration about three years ago. I'm sure you'll love it - we had a wonderful time! This was back when it sailed out of New Orleans. Have fun!

I have checked in at 11:00 a.m. Make sure you are back on the ship before sailing time, they will leave you, they will also leave you in foreign ports. I always wear a watch and make sure the ship time is the same time I have on my watch.

Believe me, we won't go too far away - we've waited WAY too long - to take a chance on missing the ship. That's why we decided to fly in a day early - just to be sure. I just don't want to have to trust airlines - or transfers in other Airports... and I'm leaving nothing to chance.

We will keep a close eye on the time - in all the ports. Thanks for the reminder about that though. A little re-enforcment of those important things is always good.
