I wanted to make a suggestion to anyone going on a cruise that never has before (like me a week ago). I found it to be quite noisy, especially on the lower decks. However, you sway back and forth less on the lower decks, which I appreciated on one night especially. The engine is a sort of loud hum at baseline. When they slow down or speed up, you hear it. When the turn on the thrusters, you here it. The first night, I didn't sleep much, but I then got used to it. I would highly recommend taking some ear plugs along if you are sensitive to this sort of thing. It is an individual preference, as my wife said the noise was "soothing"?!?!?! She slept well the whole trip. Good luck.
I have to agree with your wife on this too Pat. (it might be a woman thing). I have terrible insomnia. You'll see me posting all hours of the night until early morning. BUT, when I am on the ship I sleep like a baby. That's why I gotta book more cruises!!!!!

I am also a terrible sleeper but when I am on a cruise I sleep like a baby. Maybe it is the relief of stress and just being able to relax. The rocking of the ship, the fresh smell of the ocean breeze and hearing the sounds of the waves. One more week until my cruise on the Miracle. I can't hardly wait to get a good night sleep.
