I've heard on several other boards that folks on the Glory (and I'm sure other ships) over the last 1-2 weeks have had some really rough water in the Carribean (a lot of really sick people!)
Does anyone know if this time of year is typical of especially rough waters? We cruised 2 yrs ago in mid May and didn't have a problem. Is this common or just a bad couple of weeks? We leave in 3 weeks and are a bit concerned.
It was really rough on Sunday thru Tuesday, 12 ft seas and gale force winds. 4 out of 16 in our group were sick, and no one was able to walk steady. After we got to San Juan, it was fine, and when you were inside the ship it was easy to forget that you were on it!
I think it's pretty unusual for the waters to be so rough this time of year. Normally,
Spring is a great time to cruise (my favorite), because the weather is so good. I've heard the same thing, jajones....that for whatever reason, the seas this year are unusually rough...and hurricane season doesn't even begin until June! Hope it takes a break next week....I'll be in Cancun all week for a little rest, relaxatiion, and all-inclusiveness. (Not to mention Cinco de Mayo!)
