Default One time deal for price drop=ship credit?

I saw the rates dropped on our cruise today, called my TA and had her check into ship credit for us. She called Carnival, then relayed the message to me...Yes, prices did drop slightly, $30 pp and they will give us a total of $60 in credit, BUT said if the rates drop any lower we will not get any more credit. This is a one time deal. TA said that since we're under the 75 day mark they don't have to give any credit. I mentioned that I'd heard that anytime the price drops up until sailing we can request credit to which my TA said that just doesn't happen. They won't offer anymore credit for us.

Sound true or a bunch of baloney?

Carnival is actually one of the more difficult cruise lines to work for getting compensation when the price drops. RCI and Celebrity will honor price drops up to day of sailing.

Princess wont generally deal at all, as they'll flatly state the lower price is for new booking only.

Carnival is somewhere in between... they'll bend, and issue shipboard credits or upgrades, if pushed by the TA.
