I would say that as long as your plane leaves very early in the morning, you should be okay b/c there is less of a chance that the plane will be delayed. I think its a bit of a risk, but assuming nothing happens with your flight, you should be just fine.
I am so jealous of people that are in the teens as far as days to wait

You will be fine provided you don't have any delays.
When leaving from a port we fly to, we ALWAYS fly in the day before. You never know what delays the airlines may have (mechanical or weather related) so we see the cost of the hotel as insurance that we will arrive a the port on time. Now that I live in FL - we drive to the ports, but still go in the night before - who knows what kind of traffic will be on the interstates or turnpike.
If you booked through cruiseline, you have some leeway - they will know if flights are delayed.
You will be fine, we just cruised on Celebrity and got there at 12:40. We were fine,
although I wondered if we would make it. They couldnt get the door shut on first flight,
after half a hour they fixed it and on our way to connecting flight. Were are u coming from? We live in NC, so we usually get a non stop flight and its fine.
yes you are taking a big chance
go in the day before, the extra expense is well worth it for your peace of mind, plus you start you cruise day off with far less stress, plus it gives you a day to recover in case the airline loses your bag, you forgot something at home that someone can get to you
have a great cruise !!
Just wanted to share my experience of yesterday. We were coming home (flew down a day early as we always do). We were delayed at the airport twice. The first was approximately an hour because the plane coming in that we were going on was delayed and didn't land on time. Once we were loaded on and on the runway we were delayed again due to weather. We were supposed to arrive home by 7:40 p.m. but didn't get home to about midnight. If you can I would change it to the day before.
