st martin tender or port?

We're going on the Glory this Saturday, May 15th Eastern. Does the ship tender in or does it dock at port? Either way, any ideas as to the best way to get a car rental for the day??? Last time I was there we tendered in, found a guy who lead us to his car rental place, reasonably priced, easy as pie. Just wondering if things have changed in the past several years. Thanks!!!!!

There is now a terminal for ships to dock at. I am sure that on busy port days some ships may have to tender but as CCL is such a large customer there you will most likely dock.

We were there in Feb. '04. The Glory docked at the pier. Took a water taxi into town. You are very brave to drive there. I never would. I find it much easier to take a taxi. Have a great time.

At the new cruise dock there is an information/transportation desk. They can direct you to any kind of transportation you need.
The new pier has room for four large ships. There are sometimes more and someone has to tender.

The only ship I've ever tendered to St. Maarten was the Norway - but it had to tender at all ports. I wouldn't drive in St. Maarten either! The island is so small, that it's much more convenient to hire a taxi.
