Could anyone provide information about the category 7A obstructed view balcony rooms. I know they are probably obstructed by the lifeboats. Also, are the balconies covered to provide some shade or open to the sun. What about privacy on the balconies. Can people look down on your balcony? Thanks much.
I had my cruise on the Pride on 5/2-9 with category 8D, balcony stateroom. The category you are asking about is obstructed by the lifeboats. Not speaking from personal experience, it looked like to me that rooms in that category had quite an obstructed view, as the lifeboats are quite large. I think all balconies have a plexiglass opaque dividers- can't see through but may cast shadows. The privacy issue- you can look down on other balconies if your are leaning out over at the railing but see maybe a foot or two of the balcony below. Not complete privacy, but I never felt I was being watched. Depending on which side you are on you will have shade for half of the time, either heading down or coming up, but have coverage from the balcony above for some shade during afternoon times. Hope this helped.
