If Teens in Rm, Adults another, Extra Key for Both Rms?

We have sailed several times. Our teens get room next door to us. Never asked before but can we get an extra key to their room and they get an extra to ours? Sometimes we want to get into each others rooms and teen or parent is not around to get the key from.

One time the teens wanted in our room to get extra disposible camera. They didn't know where we were at time. Steward not around so had to hunt us down for key.

Has anyone ever encounter this situation? I plan to take a sharpie pen to mark with T for teen or P for parent on extra keys. If they don't just duplicate a key with one of my teens name on it.

Anyone asked Carnival for this before?

Good question. I will have the exact same situation. Sailing on the Glory 8/21 with my 16 yr old and 13 yr old in the room right next to us.

Yes you can. We just got back and had no problem with getting a key to the kids room.

Do you ask for it at embarkation or go the purser's when on board?

They may be able to code the keys so that can open either room. Ask. Better than having to carry 2 keys around.
