Default Embassy Suites - San Juan

Anyone stayed at the Embassy Suites in San Juan? Good/Bad? Do you know how far it is from the Pier? I am having some major trouble finding a hotel that isn't outragious in price for 6 adults either in two rooms or three. Any suggestions?

We stayed at the Emabassy Suites this pass February. It is a good location if you want to be near Old San Juan. The room was nice, though we heard what sounded like running water very late one night. They have a nice Casino area. Didn't try the restuarant. There is a pool, exercise area and jacuzzi on the top floor. The pool and jacuzzi are outside and there is a beautiful view of the bay. The jacuzzi is only so-so, as it does not have a timer and the water is only luke warm.

The hotel is just across the street from a couple of the cruise docks. However our dock turned out to be about 15 minutes drive away. Check your dock if this is important to you.

Overall, I would say this was a very good hotel that we would visit again.

I'd just like to clarify that Embassy Suites is NOT across the street from any cruise dock. It is across the street from a nearby beach. The Hotel that is across the street from the cruise docks is the Wyndham Old San Juan.

We have reservations for next spring at the Regency Hotel. It is less expensive and supposedly pretty close to the ports.

We've never stayed at the one in San Juan, however I rarely stay anywhere else other than Embassy. I only time I don't is if there aren't any around. I can't believe you can go wrong staying there. I have NEVER had a problem. Hope this helps.

To my knowledge, there are only 2 hotels close to the cruiseship port that you may find reasonably priced and they are the Hotel Milano (hotelmilanopr.com) and the Wyndham Old San Juan Hotel (wyndham.com/hotels/SJUHC/main.wnt). They are both on the free trolley line. The El Convento Hotel (elconvento.com/default.html) is not too far away, but I think their prices are a bit higher. It is also on the free trolley line.

I stayed at the Embassy Suites last March during spring break and I loved it. The rooms were clean, as were the pools and eating areas. The continental breakfast in the mornging was reallyyyyy good...i got there extra early to get my stash of mini muffins lol To my knowledge the hotel is not near any piers but it is across the street from a nice beach. U def. get ur money's worth at this hotel...good choice!

Thanks to everyone for catching my mistake. We have stayed at both of these hotels and I mixed them up in my mind. The Embassy Suites we stayed at is close to the airport. Very nice pool area. Good restaurants. There is and Outback Steak House in the hotel as well. It would take about 20 - 25 minutes to drive to the docks.

Which Embassy Suites location did you stay at? Embassy Suites Hotel San Juan Hotel & Casino or Embassy Suites Hotel Dorado del Mar Beach & Golf Resort? Feedback appreciated. We are considering eiether location as we will be renting a car. Thanks.
