I just read a review of someones trip on Elation, they said it was horrible! They said the pool closes at 5:00 and everything shuts down at 1 or 2am. I doubt I will be doing anything but sleeping at 1 or 2am but I was dissappointed to hear a negative review. This is our first cruise and I want it to be awesome...
you will have a great time im sure! i dont know if the pool closes that early but that sure wont ruin your cruise. there is so much to do and see. i sailed on the fascination in december and had a blast even tho the pools never were open due to bad weather. think good thoughts and trust me u will love it and be hooked like the rest of us!!!
Not everyone has the same experience. Some have an ax to grind for some reason. If your sample was bigger than just that 1 person, you'd probably be hard pressed to find someone who also feels like that person. You'll have a wonderful time. Enjoy!!!

Pool usually closed around 8 pm, they cover the pools up so no one falls in. Mainly because of it getting dark they dont want you out there swimming. Hot tubs are usually open a bit later. Dont let someones review ruin your trip. Everyone comes away with different opion. We just got back from Celebrity and werent real impressed with them, but others may have been. So go and have a good time
PS maybe someone that just got back can email you a copy of the activities list, so you
will have a idea.
I have the Carnival Capers from every day from the Elation cruise I took in April. I can scan them and email them to you - please email me and We had a great time - the pools did not close at 5:00. We had a really good time and you will too.
Please email me and I'll send them to you.
P.S. We also have the activites schedule for Camp Carnival ages 2-5 and ages 6-8.
Please read the thread "90% cruisers will have a great time". Like that individual, I can't imagine anyone having anything but a great time on Carnival. I've cruised two sister ships to the one you'll be sailing. They were both terrific and much older than Elation. The condition of the ships and service of the crew far exceeds anything I encounter in my normal day to day life. I pity the individuals who cannot find enjoyment in such an experience and suggest they open their wallets and pay for the ambiance they require. I'll take the shorts, sandals, bright sun, cool breeze, good company and have the time of my life every cruise. Enjoy your trip!
i'm on elation august 8. i've not seen any bad reviews on that ship other than some people thought it was too cold. i'm not worried and you don't need to be, either. carnival has got this cruising thing down.
Last poster is correct! We just got back from Celebrity, and we decided Carnival for now on!!!! We like them much better, lots to do on Carnival We have been on the Paradise and the Imagination, and loved them
You must read reviews w/ a grain of salt (preferably a margarita *g*)
Don't go in expecting it to be PERFECT. Nothing ever is. It will, however, be AWESOME just as you hoped as long as you bring a good attitude.
Although not Carnival, on my last cruise we had a great time & I posted a happy, upbeat review. Another woman wrote that she was surprised anyway had a good time on that trip b/c it was so horrible. She then posted a review about her dreadful trip. We were on the same ship at the same time.
We were on the Elation in Febuary, it was the greatest cruise we had so far (going agin in july and next febuary) Pool does not close that early what does is the pool slide. I can remneber being in the casino after 2 am and the disco was stil going. This is a great chip would great people. check out Gatsbys bar and say hi to Diva for me.
Don't be dishearted. Take that unhappy review with a grain of salt, some people are never happy. Your cruise is what you make of it. The Staff and Crew have to sleep sometime. It's true everything starts early in the morning and runs until 1:00-2:00 a.m. If you are disembarking at your destination partaking of the tourist activites, then returning to the ship, preparing for dinner, after dinner watching a show or gambling, then there is the mid night buffet and (comedians around midnight for adults). How much more could you squeeze into one day? If you tried to do everything that is offered aboard ship in one day while at sea, there is no way you could achieve this. The Capers schedule will arrive in the early a.m. in your mail slot or under your cabin door. I'm glad everything closes between 1:00-2:00 otherwise I'd never get my teenagers to go to bed.
Don't worry, enjoy your cruise.
