cabins with french doors

We booked a cabin in cat. 5A on the Pride, french doors that open to railings. I am assuming the life boats are in front. No balcony. Has anyone ever booked a cabin like this before and what was your opinion of it if you did. Any pics? We were trying to book an inside for our kids, ages 24, 21 and 17, but there were none available. No matter how bad it is, it has to be better than an inside, I would think anyway.

Try the link below for some great 360 degree views. It does give a good view with the french doors closed. We will be on the Legend June 8 and the 2 other couples we are traveling with have been upgrade from 4A GTY to 5A. Follow the links from your ship to the 5A for the view.

Melanie,I am a travel agent and on Sunday had a tour of the Carnival Miracle when she was in Baltimore..got to see different types of cabins, including the French Door cabins..Yes,you are correct regarding the lifeboats..they are directly in front of the doors, there is a small metal catwalk seperating the boats from the doors..Yes,you can open the doors for fresh air..Quite honestly,I though it was a pretty good idea and the cabin was a decent size..any other questions?

There seems to be a question about whether or not the 5A's have a sofa. Do you remember? I recall reading that "some" do.

We had a 5A aboard the Spirit . If you look down you can see the water but you should be aware that maintenance crews are often on the catwalk right outside your window during the day.

Thanks for the info, everyone. I checked out the site with the 360 degree views and that was really great. I think the kids will be happy with the cabin.

As for the sofa, I am guessing some must because we booked the cabin for three and was told that it wasn't going to have an upper bunk. I guess we will have to wait and see.

Melanie,
We booked an inside gurantee on Pride for last Feb to Mex Riv. When we got there, they had given us a 4th deck outside with the French doors as you described. We were even with life boats but were right between them so we had perfect view straight out. This was as good as the outside cabin we paid for on RCCL on a previous trip. We were happy with it, plenty of room and a small couch. For the price of an inside.

I also have my three kids booked in a 5A french door room on the Pride. We are sailing in May 2005. Please post a review when you get back and let me know how the room was and how the kids liked it, if you dont mind. Kids will be 16,12,10.

absolutly, I will post as soon as we get back to let you know. I saved your post, dien2cruize, so that I can find you when we get back. I think they are going to really like it.
