Default how old is the Victory?

i just talked to a friends mom who has been on 15 cruises on all different lines. she said if she could give me one bit of advice, it would be to go on a newer ship. she said you pay the same on old ship or new ship. now she seems to think five years is old. the only ship going to the western carribean to ocho rios, cozumel, and grand cayman is the victory in summer of 2005. we have nine in our party, five adults and four kids. what are the newest ships for carnival and why is there only one cruising to these favorite ports, in the high season next summer? i know there are others going to the western carribean but not to these three specific ports. thank you patti

We were on the Victory almost 4 years ago, it was new that year. Dont hesitate to take her she is a beautiful ship with lots to do. We had such a great time.

Daughter & I were just on the Victory in March. She was put in service in 2000. Your friend is probably suggesting newer ships because of the wider variety of choices in food & activities available. Victory, Triumph and all Spirit & Conquest class ships have all this.Several posters have "complained" about dirty/worn carpets and other signs of wear. I didn't particularly notice this. However, I was not looking. My feeling is I am renting a cabin for a week not buying the blasted ship. I never call the Holiday Inn to ask about their carpet or wall paint condition.
