Default Tipping Policy on Carnival Holiday?

Someone please tell me the tipping policy on the Holiday. I have been told that it is $10 per day per person added at the end of the cruise. But I have also been told to take plenty of $1's to tip daily. Which is it, or is it both? Wh ogets what? And also has anyone ever been on this and stayed on the Riveria deck? 1st Time Cruisers.

The $10 per peson per day covers waiters and room steward. Bar drinks will have 15% added to the bill. You need ones if you are ordering room service just give 1 or 2 depending on size of order. Also you need to give the porters a the pier a dollar a bag.

We were on the Holiday in January and had a great time. It's a smaller ship easy to get around.

Also don't forget that you can always adjust your tips up or down at your discretion on the last day of the cruise (night before).

The $1 and $2 bills also come in very handy when off the ship making small purchases, cab fare, drinks, lunch etc. What I do is cash in a $50 travelers check at the casino for some small bills If I run out of what I originally brought with me.

The 15% is not already included in the cost of drinks? I thought I read that it was?
Is it actually that they automatically add it to your card in addition to the original cost of the drink?
And this also means that you never tip the bartender right?

You can tell if the 15% is added if you have to sign the receipt. LOOK at it and it will tell you if the gratuity is added.

Just got off the Holiday Thursday 6/10. Total of $100.00 added automatically to our sail & sign card for tips. We gave the Maitrde (spelling?) $1.00 per day on ship (total $5.00). 15% for drinks.

That's right Carey, you never tip the bartender or any bar wait staff. They get it from the 15% which is added to every drink.

Hi! Just wondered if you wrote a review of your cruise. If so, where might I read it? Thanks!

As a repeat cruiser on the Holiday I can tell you that it is $50 per person added to your account on a 5 day cruise. If you want room service then a couple of dollars for the server would help. NO ONE else is to be tipped. At the end of the cruise you can give extra tips if you like and also the Maitre D is not included in tips. I have always given that person $20. However this last cruise I took I left nothing and notice that people was walking in and not handing him envelopes. My reasoning and I guess this could have been the other people's reason too was that people were in the dining room in shorts at night (grown people), jeans and jogging pants on formal night and I just felt that was a little to much to be ignored. Also during lunch we seen the same 2 women come in every day with their swimsuits on and a towel wrapped around the waist. Nothing was said and I felt him allowing that didn't deserve to be rewarded. Have a great cruise. Also let me just say that we have found that adding the tips into the cruise fare works better because we don't have to worry about that expense on the ship. Be advise that they put a hold on your CC and the first thing added is the tips.
