I took a six pack of 20oz bottled Coke on our recent cruise. I also had a 12 pack carton of Diet Coke but when I opened it, imagine how surprised I was to find six Bud Lights and six Miller Lites inside!! Shocked and Appalled!!!!

I took 2 6 packs of Dr Pepper bottles... they seem to travel better (bottles) and there is no DP onboard.... oh, the horror !

Do you put your drinks in the checked luggage that is locked? Does it ever leak? We are going on our first cruise July 1st. If you use cable ties to lock the luggage - how do you cut it open when you get on the ship? You aren't allowed to carry knives or anything are you?

we left our bags unlocked to fly... but before we got to the pier we put our luggage locks on... key in our pocket ! I think the plastic bottles might travel a little better than the cans - the cans could possibly explode under pressure ? All of our clothes & etc were in space bags... so IF the sodas did leak it wouldnt ruin the entire case !

Also, my hubby stuck a little pocket knife on the outside pocket of the suitcase...this could be used for zip ties or whatever.... hope this helps ! Have a great voyage !!

Put them in checked luggage. We always carry (3) 12 packs in a duffle bag, unlocked. Never had a can burst yet, knock on wood.

They did take my scissors that I had on my carry on. No big deal-they were cheap ones.

I didn't take any coke with me on board. Just the Malibu and Bicardi Limon to mix in it!! When we got to Mexico I bought a few liters in the grocery store dirt cheap. I also bought pineapple juice and cranberry juice. Walked right on the boat with it. No problemo. I won't tell my hubby about the beer smugglin. It will make him too happy and we would have some really heavy suitcases!!
