do you have any children going with you? Because I am 13 and my 14 yr old sister will be with me..so we've been looking for people maybe we could meet up with.I'd really appreciate it if you could respong before we leave this Sunday, thanks.
Finally, others on the Elation this Sunday, June 27th - we're taking our two daughters, 13 & 14, and are planning on doing Cozumel on our own, probably Pal Mar Beach Club by taxi and booking an excursion thru the ship in Belize due to the tendering. Others say this is no problem, book your own tour but I'm chicken and will go with the "safe" bet, Carnival excursion, perhaps the Rondevous Caye snorkle trip - we were going to the Goff's Caye trip but heard it was not too good, the beach was dirty and there were only port-potties and ice-chests, no refrigeration or sanitary conditions for the food and drink. We're all so excited and really looking forward to this trip and of course the girls are looking for ship-borad friends to hang with!!
You're wise to do a ship's excursion in Belize. If you're looking for shopping and beaches in Progresso, you won't have far to go. The shopping begins right out on the pier and the beach is at the end of the same, almost 5 mile, pier. There are free buses to drive you from the end of the pier into town. Enjoy your cruise!
We took a trip to the Mayan ruins. We didn't go through the ship, we just took one of the tour busses waiting by the dock that the tenders go to. We just made sure that we had plenty of time to get back to the ship. If you book through the ship, the ship will wait for you, but if you take your own tour, you are on your own. We have never had any problems.
