I am PUMPED. I just got my room assignment for my cruise leaving 7/4 from NO on the Conquest. We are in an inside cabin on the Empress Deck close to the central elevators. This is our first cruise ever. Does anyone have any insight as to the location of this room, i.e., good, bad, quiet, noisy, convenient, too low, too high, etc. Any feedback is appreciated.
I have been told that usually the rooms by the elevators aren't bad unless it backs right up to them. Did you ask for a certain room or were you on a "guarantee" thing?
I had a guranteed IS catergory, which means I was supposed to get my room assignment when I showed up on Sunday morning. I checked the website and saw they were offereing upgrades from 4A to 4D, so I just called and asked if I could possibly pay and upgrade to a higher level. The lady checked, and said she could put in me on the Empress deck if I wanted to reserve a room, or I could wait until Sunday and find out my cabin assignment. I went ahead and reserved the room, and it didn't cost me anything!! I might have gotton better if I had waited, but I chose to reserve. Evidently, you can reserve a cabin within 2 weeks if have a guranteed IS.
