I heard a rumor somewhere that there are olny formal nights on carnival, is this true. We are going on the pride on the 18th and i am trying to figure out if i need to get any more casual stuff. Is it Formal, Smart Casual and Casual like some other lines. This is my famlies first Carnival cruise and i finally talked my mom into a long fancy dress for the one formal night for this time. Im not sure if capris, dress pants, and mini skirts are ok for the rest of the time or if it is dressier. I have one sundress as well but i dont know if i want to take that.
On a seven day cruise you'll have two formal nights. If you really don't wish to dress up for one of them, then you don't have to. A suprising number of people don't. They just ask that you not go into the dining room for dinner that night.
There's only two formal nights. So i say go all out for them both. It's fun to get all dressed up every now and then and see everyone else in their best duds.
Your capris and sundress will be fine for the other nights. Casual nights, yes, but still not shorts in the dining room at night.
