I am going on the Sensation in September and would like to hear from anyone who has been on this ship... Did you enjoy it ? Was it clean? How did it rate to some of the other Carnival ships in the same class? The only other ship I have been on was the Fascination... How do the 2 compare?
Thank you for your time and have a great day!
Were were on Sensation May 2003 5 days out of port Tampa to Cozmuel and Grand Cayman and we loved it!!!
The ship we felt was kept very clean for the age and it is same size I think as the Fascination. Deco may differ.
The food was good, shows were good, all our service was good. No complaints here!!! As well very easy to find you way around.
Try the Spa it was wonderful, I waited til the last sea day and got the works for 1/2 off.
Watch you capers, the prices will be posted in the last days capers. Also go to the shore tour talks in the show lounge they throw out gifts and if you lucky you might get on. We got a T-Shirt + coupons for the islands.
If you like the Casino, last sea day they have a slot tourn. High winner go to the final round and I think there are 8 people who play for $500 + serval gifts.
I did this, and got to the finals, didn't win the $500.00, but got a T-Shirt Ocean Players Club, Carnival Key Ring, Necklace and a photo of all us final players. I was fun!!!, course that is if you like doing that sort of thing.
I searched the cruise boards and read all I could on the Sensation before our cruise, you will fine "good" and "bad" and "in between" reviews.
Also there a lots of places on the web that have photos of the ship's, try google image search or and search engine, just type in "photos or pictures of the Carnival Sensation".
I think it's all in your attitude you go with, My DH and myself read serval reviews where people would talk about the rust on a rail or a little stain on the carpet or smell in the bathroom or light bulbs out on the lido deck.
My DH said, one night those people must not have had anything else to do but, walk around and count burned out light bulbs. Personally I found so much to do, that the last thing I thought about was looking for rust or stain carpets or light bulbs out!!!.
We were there to have fun and enjoy our vacation to the fullest and we did.
George the Greek is so Funny!!! if you get the dining room he's in you'll love him.
If you do tell him the Scotts said Hello!!!
Go enjoy have fun you'll love the Sensation!! Good Luck
Have a wonderful cruise

IMO, the 5 day Sensation out of Tampa is the best value out there. The ship's condition was comparable to the Fantasy but the crew and ports much nicer. In fact, my girlfriend rebooked for Sept. 13, with her daughter and granddaughter.
Thank you so much for all the information... I am so excited I can not wait.... I am not going to count lightbulbs or look for rust... ! My boyfriend is an officer on the ship and I am going as his guest but will have plenty of time to kill on my own while he is working.
My husband and I just took our two daughters ages 15 and 12 on the Sensation to cozumel July 1 through July 5th. The ship was in good shape, the cruise director was fun as well as the rest of the crew. The cabins were clean and the dining room was good. Our teenage daughter had lots of fun in the teen disco, we enjoyed all the shows especially the deck party the last night on board. Have fun!!
Was on this ship in March 2004 and loved it. Everything was just great. I booked another cruise on this same ship for next March, but leaving out of New Orleans this time. They are moving it from Tampa. You will have a blast!
Time remaining until I sail the Sensation again
I'm not sure why, but most everyone that posts for the Sensation (including me) hardly ever receives any responses. I'm leaving on July 29th on this ship and have found only 1 person that replied. Good luck, and happy cruising!
So glad to read these responses about the Sensation. My sister, after listening to me and my other sailing sister go on and on and on about our cruises, has booked the Sensation for Dec 23 out of N. Orleans. She is sooooo excited and I hope reading the boards by now!

I am going on October 7th. I am glad to hear people have fun on this ship. It will be my first Carnival after many Royal Caribbean cruises. I think I will manage to have a great time. I am having my own cabin and hope there will be some wild and crazy single girls onboard who want to party with Dave the Wave.

My cousin just returned from the Sensation this last Sunday and absolutely LOVED it. Since we are leaving in 10 days on the Inspiration she loved telling me all about it. She had nothing to say but good things about the ship and the crew.
They did get 10 minutes out into the water on a snorkel tour in Cozumel and the boat and the captain got struck by lightning. She said it was pretty intense and they had to turn back, but that was mother nature who spoiled that (the captain was okay). Other than that, nothing but raves from her.
