I love this site! I have found most of my answers to questions that concerned me about our 1st cruise out of Tampa on Nov 18.
I was thinking I love disposable camera's. Has anyone had any bad experiences taking them on board or packing them in luggage? I was told on airplanes that would get ruined and they never did.
Do they get ruined on the scanning on cruise ships? My fiance takes his digital but, I still like good old disposable for the simple pics I take. RO
What about the water cameras? We have ours - but it's a pretty high speed (800) - is that better to be packed with regular luggage or carry-on? (We are flying - so we're wondering about THEIR x-rays....
Thanks

My wife always takes at least 3 ( one underwater camera) of those disposible camera's. Put them in your carry-on or your suitcase. They should be fine.
I would put all of your cameras in your carry on just to be safe. I had the disposable ones in my suitcase and they were fine when they went thru the scanning on the ship, but for your more high speed ones, I would definitely take them. Buy your cameras before you get on the ship otherwise you will pay a fortune!
Picked up mine underwater disposable at Walmart for 7.95.Quicksnap waterproof by Fujifilm.Waterproof up to 35ft.Kodak also makes one at around 8.95.You can find them just about ant CVS,Walgreens,Kmart and the like.
Pack your disposable cameras in your carry on and send them through the scanner. They will be safe.
If you are using a regular 35mm camera with high speed, ASA 800 film or higher, then put the camera through without film and have the film hand inspected.
Never pack any film in your checked baggage. The intensity of the scanning equipment is much stronger and it can and probably will damage high speed film.
Take care,
Mike

Yes, the underwater ones do take decent photos. Plan on giving my younger daughter disposable ones with flash for her cruise. We will be buying 4 underwater ones-1 for each of us for our snorkeling expeditions.
