Default Sail & Sign

Hi all:

Question: My husband and I were thinking of putting cash (travelers checks) towards our Sail and Sign card to avoid the issues of a debit card. Does Carnival accept this as payment? We leave on Sunday 8/1on Carnival Destiny to the SOuthern Carribean from San Juan...We figured why not do everything cash and if we need more just go to an ATM instead of having the hassle of Debit Card minimums and overdrawn accounts etc etc. We own no Credit Cards...and don't want any and have been fine without them. But we want to make sure we can do use Travelers Checks instead of our Debit Card. Although we have up to $2k with our bank I believe the ships set a max a day and we want to avoid that...

Any advise/opinions/suggestions welcome...

thanks and happy cruising! Reeboksmm

We used our debit card one time not knowing the problems with the limits, etc. We had to change to a credit card. Now we just put a cash deposit down and get our refund the last day. I don't think traveler checks would be a problem. Have a great time.

I used travelers checks on my last cruise for the sail and sign card. No problem. I just signed them and they applied them to my credit. On the last morning I got back my balance.

I would highly suggest using travelers checks! I used my debit card and got a big shock when I found out how much I actually spent and I had no choice but to take it out of my account. If you goto the casino I would use either cash or travelers checks and not your sail and sign card because they charge a service fee when you use it.
