Great ships? Ships to avoid?

My husband and I joined the Carnival Vacation Club while on our cruise. So, we are already looking forward to our next trip, possibly in March.

We've only been on one cruise, on the Spirit, last month. I loved the Spirit, and feel I would choose another Spirit class ship in a minute. But, I also don't want to unnecessarily limit my options. To that end, I'd appreciate any and all feedback from frequent Carnival customers. Which are the great ships? What makes them great? On the other hand, which are the ships you probably wouldn't vacation on again, and why not?

Thanks in advance!

Sheila

My favorites that I've been on are of course the Victory and Triumph. Because they are larger ships. Not to mention newer. Although I also liked the Imagination. Not sure why, just it was a nice ship. All of the ships I've been on were great. But Imagination just stands out a little more from the other 2 "Fantasy-Class" Ships I've been on for some reason. The only ships that I would avoid (And this is just my opinion... I've seen people say they love them the most) are the "Holiday-Class" ships. Holiday, Jubilee and the Celebration. Now I say that, just because they are smaller and older. I personally love the larger newer ships. But that doesn't keep me from going on another "Fantasy-Class" Ship. LOL Because I will be going on the Sensation in November! And just from pictures I've seen of that ship. It looks awesome, especially now since she was refurbished, just recently. Now there is a bar in the Atrium almost like the larger ships instead of some weird looking "Art" thingy that had standing there.

I think in less you have a bad experience, your first ship always holds a special place in your heart - at least mine does.

If you want a quick (4 day), inexpensive trip, the Fantasy can't be beat.

I'll let you know about the Glory in September!

Dorothy,
You will love the Glory!

My favorite ships are the Glory and the Victory. The Victory has the same layout as the Glory, but the Glory is a little bigger. I also love the Imagination. It was my first cruise, but after the Glory and the Victory, I prefer the larger ships.

Avoid any ship that has just come out of dry dock during the first month. The Holiday's pools leaked all over the casino closing them both down. We went one month after that and everything was perfect.

I've heard inaugral(sp) cruises have problems also.

The Inspiration is a good ship , and the Conquest newer and a lot bigger. The service and food was good on both ships.I feel sure that any choice you make will be a good choice.

Happy sailing;
david
