Going on Sensation in a couple of weeks. Just wondering.... On the Conquest they had an interactive map on the wall (I forget what deck). It was a map of the carribbean and little lighted dots shoed the ships position from beginning to the point of where thery were on the map. I thought it was cool because you could see how close you were to port or where in the gulf you were. Just wondering if Sensation had such a map?

Thanks,

TC

Hey Tc, I think all Carnival ships have that. I love that too, its cool to see just how far from home you are!. I went to St. Maarten and I'm from Michigan. WOW!! that was way far from home! But hopefully the Sensation has it too... sure it does, though.

Dear Canesfan1,
I'm sure you will put this in your review. However, I will ask anyway, just in case.
How was the food, service, and shows? Were you able to tender to Grand Cayman?
I hear the ship looks great for an older ship. I am concerned about the possible sewer
smell. Comfortable beds?? My hubby and I leave 6 weeks from today (42 days and
counting). We are really looking forward to a wonderful cruise experience.
I always keep in mind that a cruise is what you make of it..........
Thank you for you input.
Happy Sailing.................

The food was just OK, nothing really spectacular. This was our fourth Carnival Cruise by the way and we are not picky people by any means. Service was good, except in the dining room, we had to ask to move to a different table because our waiter was horrible ( I mean completely unattentive). I had never experienced that before on any cruise, but the maitre'd took care of us and moved us to another table. The shows were OK also, Hey Mambo was a little lame, but it was OK. We were in cabin M238 and we smelled the sewer smell ALL the time in the hallway and sometimes in the bathroom, which my wife kept blaming me for!!! But I was innocent!
Beds were extremely comfortable and the comforters were great as well. Our room steward was great as well. We had our 3 year old with us and he really took great care of her with extra chocolates and lots of towel animals which she loved!

We only went on the 4 day, so we stopped in Cozumel and went to Paradise Beach which was great, I highly recommend it. The only problem is that if you want to snorkel, that is not the place. I would go to Chakanaab for good snorkeling. We have been there before to snorkel and it was great. The food and drinks were great at Paradise Beach and it is very relaxing.

I guess overall it was not the greatest cruise we have ever been on, but we still had a great time and you will too. I don't want to try and ruin anything for you, I just wanted to be honest.

Oh yeah, the ship is in great shape, no problems there. Any other questions, just ask!
Steve

I was just on the Sensation, too!

What sailing were you on?

And no, Sensation doesn't have such a map

It's been a year and a half since I was on Sensation, but it did have a map of the itinerary. It's not an inter-active map such as the one on Glory, but there's a large map showing the route, miles, nautical miles etc. It doesn't plot current position. Seems to me it's near the aft elevators on maybe Lido deck. Anyhow, we loved the ship, the itinerary, and the great crew. My girlfriend re-booked for next month. We did have a smell in the bathroom, but that was cured by keeping the door closed. IMO, Sensation is the best value out there.

I keep reading about this sewer smell (pee-u)... Any way is it on the lower decks, or all decks? My husband doesn't do so well with smells. We are on the uuper deck, forward, starboard side.

This is my 4th, and third on carnival. My first was the Jubilee. We stayed on the main deck, but never smelled a thing. Jubilee is one of the oldest ones too I think. Last year we were ont he Conquest. It was it's first season and we didn't smell anything on it either.

Thanks,
TC

I remember the sewer smell coming from the Empress Deck Aft.

I was walking on the Upper deck (near the Cat. 12's) one particular day and actually, I remember it smelling quite good.
