I was wondering if I could make copies now that I am home of the professional pictures I bought on the ship. They have the Carnival barcode on them but no mention of copyrighting. I want to make some smaller copies for family who loved the photos. Has anyone does this?
Hi, I doubt you can copy those. I took mine to Eckerd Drugs, Walgreens, Walmart which have those copy machines and they check if there is a barcode because that is property of the photographer or company that did those. They told me even my daughters graduation pics couldn't be copied. But, try it anyway you just never know. This is Florida maybe another state lets you copy those. Ro
Here's an idea: just put your photo(s) in your computer scanner (if you have one) and print it out. (if you have a printer!) I just did that for all our shipboard photos so I could put them in a special album for my son for his birthday. The pics came out almost as good as the originals!
Many if not most "Professional" copiers will not make copies of them. What you can do and it seems like many do, is use one of those machines that YOU operate to make copies like those at Wal-Mart. That or do as Donna said and use a scanner and photocopier on your computer.
Contrary to popular belief, it is legal for you to make personal copies of any copyrighted material. (If a commercial printing office refuses to copy your personal copy of published material that is up to them.) You may copy music, videos and pictures FOR YOUR OWN USE. You may NOT make copies to sell them or use them for publicity without the express permission of the copyright holder.
Also, EVERYTHING you compose or publish ie write or print is automatically copyrighted unless you relinquish that right to someone else. In other words, when you agree to register on the message boards you relinquish your right to your printed or published words with reference to those boards.
