Just watched the tropical update on the weather channel. They feel pretty certain that Earl will be a tropical storm by the time it reached the Lesser Antillies (spelling?) and will quickly become a hurricane, moving into the carribbean.
Here we go again......
Who leaves next Sunday from Tampa......

We're leaving out of Galveston on 8/22 on the elation, heading straight for the projected path of this potential hurricane. We didn't buy the insurance. Does anyone know if the ship will take us through the storm? Any thoghts or comments?
We'll be leaving out of Tampa on the 22nd...on the Inspiration - and heading for the Western Caribbean.. I feel that once we get on the ship and are able to leave the port - we can certainly go AROUND the hurricane (if that's what Earl becomes)....but I suspect Earl will be out of there by then. Just getting to the departure port that is the difficult part. Once I'm on the ship - I don't even care which port we go to.... as long as the water is blue and the air is warm....

What is the old saying about not messing with Mother nature? Wow is that ever true. It doesn't make me feel any better knowing that the new Tropical Depression projected path is the same as Charley. We are having thunderstorm and there are water spouts that have been spotted this afternoon. Up U.S. 19 there are Tornado warnings up. I vaguely remember this nasty type of weather following Hurricane Donna when I was a child.
I love Florida, but I hate this weather. There is so much damage in the Central part of Florida.
