How far in advance???

I am planning a familiy vacation for a family of 4 to go on the Carnival Legend next august (2005). How far in advance should I book, and with what travel agency / travel website should I book to get the best deal?

Re: How far in advance???

I booked 6 monts ahead of time and was able to get a triple upgrade for doing so. I found that the variation in prices between travel agents is minimal, but its also best to find an agent thats local.

Re: How far in advance???

Travel agents are paid by the cruise line and should not cost you any more than regular fare. From time to time through the year Carnival offers free upgrades. My travel agent called me while I was on a pick nik and asked if it was okay to upgrade us from a lower level cabin to a suite, needless to say what my answer was. Check with your travel agent about cabin differences or call Carnival and have them send their catalog.

We booked the legend a year and a half in advance booked a catg. 4A ended up in a balcony 8F. The sooner you book the better chance to be upgraded. at least that is the way i looked at it. I prefer to book through carnival. there are some pics i uploaded under the photo gallery of the legend under legend dec 15-23 2003 We paid approx. $2400 for two adults and our two teens.
