Default Sensation delayed 2 days

What are people's thoughts on doing this? Is it worth it to really go on a cruise for 3-days and not go to any islands? I bought travel insurance so I know i can get my flight refunded. I'm on the fence here so advice from anyone is much appreciated!

SENSATION Five-day western Caribbean cruise scheduled to depart Sat., Sept. 4, will be converted to a three-day cruise-to-nowhere departing Mon., Sept. 6. Guests who sail will receive a 50 percent refund of their cruise fare, a $100 per person shipboard credit, and a 50 percent discount off a future cruise of three to five days valid for departures through Dec. 15, 2005. Those who wish to cancel may choose between a future cruise credit or a full refund.

For a 50% refund, $100 shipboard credit and 50% off another cruise I'd go, but I enjoy the days at sea just as much as visiting the islands.

I would be concerned with how rough the seas will be and wouldn't want to just go float around and be seasick. If it were me, I would cancel and go another time.

If you are getting 50% refunded to you, $100 shipboard credit & 50% off a future crusie, you should go. Think about it. You are basically getting a free cruise. Take the 3 days, relax and have a good time, and they take another for really cheap. Sound great to me if you have the time to take a 2nd cruise. Enjoy whatever you do!!

sounds to good to be true 50 percent off man you could book a suite. That would be real cool. So I would go relax and plan my next escape.

I really liked the day at sea, but I'm not sure about 3 of them. I suppose you sort of *are* getting a free cruise.

Let us know.

I would go ahead and take the cruise.....and book another one! I know it's a bitter disappointment...Mother Nature : (

But you could have a SUITE next time.

But you can make the best of it and have TWO cruises, albeit, one will not have the schedule you had planned on...you may have a wonderful time enjoying the sea.

My friend and I decided to go! The thought of having to go to work next week when we'd planned on taking the week off was mor than I could handle! We're both 24 so hopefully there will be some other young people on the ship that will be fun to party with.

A few questions...What is the best way to try to get an upgrade this time? We have an inside room and booked through a TA. Do we wait until we board to try to get the upgrade or call today? I'm guessing the ship will only be 1/2 full so I'd hope they'd let us fill in on all of the nicer rooms. Thoughts?

Do you think we'll still have a formal night? Debating over whether to bring a nice dress now if we're only there for 3 nights. I wish they'd send an updated itenerary out to us.

i don't think you can ask to be upgraded when you get there, but i could be wrong. i think you're just upgraded or either your not, but i guess it can't hurt to ask!

i would think that there would still be a formal night. SURELY!

Carly, did you book a guarantee? If so, then the upgrade will just happen (if it's going to). If not, I'd call my TA right now and ask!

Have fun!

Nope, I didn't book a guaranty. I am a first time cruiser (okay, I was 11 the last time I went). How do I book a GTY in the future?

when you go to book your cruise just tell your TA that you want to book a guarantee cabin. i always book an oceanview guarantee & i've always been upgraded to a higher deck. good luck to you!

I'd go in a heartbeat!! We love the cruise to nowhere, because we love the sea days. You're basically getting the cruise for free, and it's a good shakedown cruise for the "real thing" that you'll book with the discount they are giving you. TAKE THE CRUISE !!
