Default Tampa Cab Fare

I am going on the Sensation in 12 days and just booked a hotel in Tampa on priceline.
(Downtown Hyatt Regency on N Tampa St.). I was wondering if anyone knows how much cab fare will be from the airport to the hotel (Or if they have a shuttle from airport) and aprox. how much cab fare will be from the Hyatt to the port.
I did call the Hyatt to find out about a shuttle to the port (forgot to ask about the airport). They do not, but, said it is only 9 blocks...
Also, does anyone know if this is walking distance to Ybor City?

Thanks a million!!!

I have heard that taxi fare from the airport to that area is about $15-20.00 and from the
airport to the port is $20.00. You might try looking up the phone # (on the web) for
Yellow Cab and give them a call.
Happy Sailing.......................

No, you do not want to walk from the Hyatt to Ybor City. It is not safe. Also, once you are in Ybor City, do not venture off of 7th Ave. Ybor City is a popular night spot for the young or young at heart. Lots of clubs, bars and a few restaurants. There is also Pop City with movie theatres and a video arcade. You might be able to jump on the trolley shuttle (small fee each way). Or the Hyatt may shuttle you there. I believe they will shuttle you to the ship. Or you might consider taking a cab. While you are that close to Channelside you might want to check it out too. I wouldn't walk there either. Once you get to Channelside you can walk through the mall into the center of Channelside. There are restaurants, a bowling alley, movie theatres, art shop, ice cream shop, and clothing shops. That's where I go to wave good bye to people who are sailing away on Carnival ships.
