I have not sailed on Fantasy however on another Carnival ship, the soft drinks were part of bar tab. I found that ice tea, lemonade and juices on board to be free, and unless you are a heavy soda drinker, the card may not be of a great value. It is also a note that when my son used his soda card it was a smaller glass than the paid size.
We stopped at a market near the pier and loaded a suitcase with a case of soda ahead of time with no problem before getting on. I also have read some people packing it in a softside cooler and tagging it with luggage. Please post back under soda title what you end up doing.

We cruised the Fantasy back in April and the sodas are not free anywhere. They were $2.50 each..I ordered one at dinner one night and it was brough in a bottle and served with a glass of ice..Tea,juices,coffee,lemonade are all free.If you are an early riser and like to drink coffee or tea in the morning, I sugest you get your drink and go out on the little patio behind the Windows of the Sea rest and buffet..it is quite and a lovely place to watch the sun rise and relax..not many people there. Also there is one on each side of the ship(aft)

If you're not a big soda drinker pay as you go. I bought the cards for my kids as they drink a lot of soda on vacation. For the week I think my husband had two and I had one. We drank the free ice tea mostly.

The drink cards are a good idea.

1. the waiter needs to see it only once and you have the soda at your table when you walk in the dining room

2. Most are good for fruit juices at bars, and if you exercise in the mornings a glass hits the spot

6 cruises... two booked.

I for one feel the soda card to be a waste unless you drink alot of soda. I didn't even buy the cards for the kids. During dinner, the sodas are free for kids. Personally, that is enough for my kids. I don't want them drinking soda all day. I would definitely pay as you go along. Also, I packed some soda and used it in the room for when we wanted a quick drink or with room service.
