Default When you buy those bar coupons from the Carnival Site ----

I was wondering another thing when you purchase those coupons for drinks on the Carnival site where or when do they give them to you? Ro

When I did it they were in room on arrival. Dont know if they were realy worth it though, the special drink of the day was cheeper, these are mostly to give as gifts to someone you know that is going away.

Actaully they are nice to have, you feel less of a strain on the S&S card and if your getting a more expensive drink they usually don't make you pay the differance.

Thanks you all for the replys. This is my first cruise so I figured everytime I had an extra 20 I would buy them so when I actually went on it for the short four nighter to get my feet wet it would help to take the strain off the budget a bit. I just was thinking that I hoped they weren't a hassle to ask for if they were not given out. Thanks again for the replys I am learning so much from you guys on this site. Ro

My kids generally give them to me for Mothers day and my birthday......so when I board they are in the room or are delivered the first night at dinner. Really saves $$$$$ on the charges on S&S card.

I just got back (9/25) from a 4 nighter on the Fascination out of Miami. I bought $60 worth of drink coupons.

I received them at dinner the first night -- in the dinning room. If we chose to eat in the buffet I'm not sure how I would have gotten them, probably they would have been delivered to my cabin.

Some of the posts suggested that if you purchased a drink that was more than the value of the coupon (about $5), they wouldn't charge you the extra -- in other words, they would just take the coupon.

This was NOT true, at least in my experience. I would give them a coupon and they would give me a bill for the difference which would go to Sail & Sign. So if a martini was $6, I would get a bill for the extra dollar plus the 15% tip.

So it's not any cheaper ... it's neither more or less convenient. But as a previous poster suggested, if you want to relieve some pressure on your Sail & Sign expenses the coupons work fine.

Enjoy.
