Default Carnival Pride Question

We are cruising on the Pride on November 14th to Mexico. I have not cruised with Carnival since 1997. I thought they were a little on the low budget side back then but eveyone I know says they are much improved and really likes them. I don't mean to come across snobby but this was my experience. Can anyone give me any feedback on their experience with this ship and Carnival. Thank you very much for any input.

We went on the Pride and really enjoyed it! My friend went recently and I consider her a bit of a snob. She didn't want to go on Carnival because she didn't think it would be classy enough for her. She said she was wrong! She loved it as well!
I went when they were in Port Canaveral with the Caribbean itinerary. But we'll be taking her next summer for the Mexican itinerary.
I thought the food was wonderful and shows were fantastic! We just went on Disney, and wouldn't do that again. I thought the food selection was better on the Pride. As far as having a variety of things to eat at non meal times. It's a very nice ship.
We were on many of Carnival's older ships and didn't compare to the Pride. I don't think I could go back to older ships anymore.

If you have any specific questions, feel free to email me.

In my opinion, the Pride is a classy ship. She has a lot of dark wood in the interior and has a beautiful spiral staircase. Also the art thoughtout the atrium hallway is something to see. I've sailed on the Fantasy class ships too. There is a party atmosphere on the Fantasy class ships that I did not see on the Pride. I like the people on Carnival because they seem to enjoy themselves without putting on airs. Although I have seen a passenger on each ship that I would call a "stink pot" who could always find something that they didn't like and complained a lot, I just walk on past them and enjoy myself.

We too sailed on the PRIDE, when she was sailing out of Pt. Canaveral. I really enjoyed the cruise, except for the fact that I felt that the decor was kind of dark for a Carnival ship, and the steak was really really really tough!!. Perhaps I just got a bad one. The air conditioning wasn't working when we boarded, and didn't start until we actually sailed? Other than that, we had a great time. Entertainment was first rate, and the food (other than the steak) was very good, and selection too was excellent. I'd sail her again in a minute.
Happy sailing
Ken

I just got off the Pride last week. The ship is very beautiful. Food was fine, but not fantastic. I will be writing a review and posting in the next few days.

Thanks for all the replies so far. I really appreciate them. That is what I recalled is that the food was not great, at least compared to Celebrity which I have been on half a dozen times.

But it seems many here felt very good about Carnival. One thing I do remember is I had "lots of fun" and that is really what vacations are all about. Carnival brought out the party in me and I hope it happens again!! When you write your review, please let me know and I will read it. Thanks.
