Default Live from the Sensation!!!

I am leaving my office in St Pete now for the Port of Tampa. I will be reporting live from the ship here. Stayed tuned for live updates, gripes as they occur and the status of the party...

Dave,
I saw the ship in port and wished that I were sailing away on her. I hope you have as much fun on the Sensation as I did.

Alrighty Dave ! Congrats to ya there buddy ! Hope you have sunny skies and a wonderful cruise.

See if they still have a drink called "Ocean Wave" Its blue in color, comes in a bottle, and its imported from Australia. Beware, you can not only have one of these. It usually takes 4 or 5 of them. lol !

Post as often as you can. I'm looking forward to reading your posts.

Party on Dude !

Ok, here I am. had a great first day. This is not Royal Caribbean but I am beginning to like this ship. More details later but there is a party crowd on board! The seas are ROUGH but I like it. Had a great time by the pool and even got picked up in the piano bar last night. Now I need to get to the pool, the chair hogs are out in force!! A whole row by the pool covered with books and magazines. I did get on board with my case of beer, bottle of Captain Morgans and a bottle of Smirnoff. The beers by the pool are 375 with tip. Pictures will be good!

More later...

Formal night, spent 6 hours in the sun, met cool people from Chicago having a blast! Sunny all day. The seas have calmed, lobster tonight, Cozumel in the AM. Got an aloe rubdown from some girl from Chicago before dinner in my cabin. Do I have to wear this suit all night or can I change after dinner?

Here we are in Cozumel. Beautiful day. A little hung over from yesterday. The late comedian was great. I missed the Hey Mamba show. The guy in the piano bar was very good. I played a couple tunes and told some jokes during his break. had the lobster and the prime rib last night. Now I am hiding from one girl who is following me around cuz I found some others I like better. This is a problem. If you can't get lucky on this ship, you are not trying ot else there is something wrong with you. I think I will venture off the ship and go to Chankanaab. Will take pictures. Have not YET met my cabin steward, I need more ice for my cooler. I am down to about 8 Miller lites left and they are floating in water now. I am afraid to see my bar tab.

Fury Catamaran was a blast. Everybody had fun, the crew was great snorkeling very good. Lots of underwater pictures, saw some fish too. Too tired for the deck party last night. Not many people at dinner.

Well, I 'm back! I need a vacation. Once I collect my thoughts and get the pics developed, I will post a review and photo gallery. I kept finding myself comparing this to RCI and I have to say my first experience with Carnival was not up to par. Don't get me wrong, I had fun, met some great people and would do it again. But somehow something was lacking. More to come later...

I know what it is now. The lack of planters by the pool and the ugly colors. The tacky $5 plastic chairs at the buffet area, the purple everywhere. And if you don't already have a bunch of tatoos, you can get one by the pool on the Sensation.

Yes, tattoos. The temporary ones but still it is the idea. Now I have had my say. I had a great time with the people I met and I did not let any of it ruin my time. There are some dive bars around the beach here where I have the best times. If you want a wild, rowdy cruise with a lot of drinking, this is it. I was right there in the middle of it. But without a NASCAR hat and a tatto, I was in the minority.

Ah.. so you're a "better class" drunk.

I've been on the PURPLE ship. She is loud!

You could get "tattoos on the RCI Mariner a couple of months ago too!

Kuki,

You may be right about that.

jenl13,

I mean here in St Pete Beach not over there. Dives as in "hole in the wall" is what I meant. You will have a great time. Senor Frogs in within walking distance, it is across the water from the pier. Carlos and Charlies is up in town. The deck party is that night in Cozumel.

hey Dave, sorry I missed ya. Sounds like you had a great time. The deck party after cozumel, was the only party I attended on the deck.... The rest of the time, we did shows and partied in da clubs. That is what is so great about carnival, if ya dont want to get dressed up, ya dont have too. we had an awesome time! My friends are ready to go again!!!

Guess it's different perspectives and experiences but my RCI cruises were not up to par with my Carnival cruises.

Party on man!!!! Any cruise is better than sitting in the office.

What dive bars are you hitting on St. Pete Beach. I hang out at Woodys on most Sundays. St. Pete Beach is a great place to be.

I want to know how did you get on with all that liquor and a case of beer, to boot. I just returned from the Conquest and it seemed that security was pretty tight about alcohol brought on board. They were confiscating booze right and left. Why would you want to carry all that stuff on board anyway, unless you really drink to excess... My bar bill was less than $200 for the week.

Actually, it was an 18 pack of Miller light and a pint each of rum and vodka in my suitcase just to make a pre-dinner cocktail with. I had 7 beers left and gave them to my cabin steward. My bill was about $200 for the bar over 4 days.
