Hope someone can help us. We will be in Galveston for one night, the night before the cruise, and we need a place to park our RV and sleep just for the one night. Does anybody know if there are public beaches with bathroom/shower facilities close by where we could park for the night?
Thanks for any help.
You have an RV too? We love camping in ours. Weather is great right now. SO - Galveston. THere is a Galveston State Park (look up "www.TPWD.state.tx.us") on the Seawall (not the Strand side of Galveston where the cruises are but the beach side) down about 4 miles or so from most of the stuff on the Seawall but the beach for the state park is awesome! (for a beach in Galveston) The park is sheltered by a sand dune and then a large beach that goes for miles. The facilities were nice when we went and checked out the park. There are covered picnic tables at each site but other than that you are out in the open. The other RV PArks are all out in the open too for what we saw. There are RV parks closer to the action on the Seawall but they are much more expensive and the beach isn't very good but they do have laundry facilities. The only place we have actually stayed in the RV is a RV park in Crystal Beach - not on Galveston it self. BUT we have wanted to stay at the state park and hopefully will soon. Email me if I can be of further help. Debbie
