We rented a golf cart @ $15/hr and drove down to Mahahual (sp) for the day. Beautiful beach there. They have restaurants and bars on the beach. We met up with some people that took the ship's tour to Uvero beach and they had a great time there. We're looking into trying that for the next cruise.

Try the Jungle Beach Break. You take a 25min motor coach ride to Uvero Beach.
The people are very friendly and speak English. The beach is beautiful with white
powder sand. There is a long peir to walk on, plenty of lounge chairs, palm trees,
2 open (free) bars that will fix anything you want to drink, a few shops, a restaurant,
and I believe you can rent motorized equip. A great place to relax.
Happy Sailing........

Darcy, is there a reason you took the golf cart versus the taxi? I would think it would be a waste to have it parked down there all day, or do you need it to get around there?? We have rented golf carts previously and find it fun, but mostly for cruising around.... Thanks!

We wanted to be able to cruise around on our own and come and go as we pleased. We had a great time with it. We drove down past the village along the coast and back, relaxed at the beach for a while and drove around some more. We had it for 3-4 hours.

How many people do the golf carts hold. We have 6 in our group and the golf carts sound great.

Five, two in the front and 3 on the back. They also rented dune buggys which you may be able to get 6 in. You have to go outside the complex to where the buses and taxis are. That's where the rental place is.

There is a lot to do there, deep sea fishing, snorkeling, beach horseback riding and a great beach break etc. We booked beach horseback riding followed by the $25 beach break for $25, open bar, pretty beach http://costamayacruiseexcursions.com the port is really nice too but its great to get out and see the sites of the village of Mahahual

Darcy. are the dune buggies meant for just driving around or are they part of a tour type thing where you get a certain beach or trail to ride on? So if we got off the ship, the dune buggies would be in walking distance or are they closer to Mahahual?

Hi how did you like the horseback riding? Did you ride much on the beach and how were the horses?

We had a very relaxing stay on Tequila Beach Club, first stop to Majuahal. It is so nice there with flushing tolets! No vendors, but you can get a snorkel boat trip for around 25.00 through the above mentioned web site. Not many people go there yet.
